What Does a Game Artist do? What is it that Games Artists do when they help bring together a game? Well Game Artists have to have the determination and patience to put together characters and scenes to fit the mood in the setting. The Game artist creates the mood, color, scenes, and put the story line together. In Creative Skill Set it says "Artists create the visual elements of a game, such as characters, scenery, objects, vehicles, surface textures, clothing, props, and even user interface components"(http://www.creativeskillset.org/games/careers/profiles/article_4733_1.asp). So it is true that Artists in this field has to put together the beauty that makes people really want to play the game because it looks real or maybe it looks cute. The Artist makes the look and the style of the game. In Game Career Guide it says "Artists and animators create the 2D and 3D visible elements of a game. They decide how everything will look: characters, objects, the environment, and the lighting. The look and movements of characters in their environments is what gives them a sense of life and emotion" (http://www.gamecareerguide.com/features/413/game_art_and_animation_an_introduction.php). The sources both say that the artist has to make characters, backgrounds, textures down to the smallest detail. They have to make clothes for the characters; the props to go in the background of the scene and the over all quality of the game.
